At Crawford the training programme begins with each new employee's induction.  This is our structured and standardised method of communicating corporate goals, policies, procedures and standards to all new employees.

Following induction, our ongoing programme includes a training and development plan for each of our business units. Identification of the training and development needs which comprise the programme occurs at three different levels in the organisation:

  • Company wide: Needs arising from legislative, regulatory, company policy and procedures changes or initiatives.
  • Business Unit: Annual training needs are analysed and a relevant operational programme is developed.
  • Individual: All employees have a formal annual performance appraisal that includes the identification of individual training needs.

Our Business Unit Managers carry out specific training programmes for their product lines and philosophies using standard checklists and procedures so we achieve consistent delivery of this training across Australia. Where clients have any specific requirements within particular product lines this is included within the training.

Across Australia, Crawford holds regular Lunch and Learn seminars attended by employees, clients and intermediaries.  We also provide tailored training workshops for clients.

Crawford is a strong supporter of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) and the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters Employees are encouraged to undertake ANZIIF/ACLA examinations and acquire qualifications.
